Led by pastor and previous PATHWAYS presenter Kari Lindholm-Johnson.

Join us as we explore the art of fractals -- a never-ending pattern/shape that when divided into pieces, the pieces are the same or similar to the whole.  (Think of a snowflake or a fern.)

Participants will have the opportunity to identify a symbol that conveys love and grace to them.  Emphasis will be given on seed and the wonder of repetition of love and fruit of the Spirit.  The chosen symbol of each attendee will be streamlined to an abstracted visual expression for repetition in a larger visual piece.  In the depicted painting to be shared at the workshop, a dove symbol signifies seven generations and is displayed in a repeating pattern (1,2,4,8,16,32,64) to show the murmuration and presence of our ancestors.  The seedpods include the layered seven sizes to symbolize what we are passing on to next generations.

  • learn about art as a spiritual discipline
  • meditate on God's gift of grace
  • create your own custom artwork
  • stimulate your creativity using a personal symbol of love
  • nourish your mind and body

Workshop materials will include paper, graphite pencils, Inktense watercolor pencils, scissors and paintbrushes.  To help inspire ideas, conversation will cover fractals in nature and the Fibonacci sequence.

A $30 registration fee includes lunch and all materials.  Scholarships are available.  Register today for this unique offering!
